In light of the 'Nintendo 64' thread, I thought it was only natural there be a Super Nintendo appreciation thread as well. IMO, SNES is far superior system and also the best video game system of all. I moved not too long ago and just got around to setting it back up. I'm missing quite a few classics (lented out, lost) that I plan on getting back and conquering once more:

Zelda, DK1&2, Yoshi's Island, MKart, F-zero, Contras, etc.. Also some of the more obscure ones: Clayfighter, Earthbound, Uniracer.

Right now I'm running through Mario World and All-Stars. I still have the great fight games: the Street Fighters, Killer Instinct, and the MKs. Big fan of all the Mega Man Xs as well, have em all. BIG $$ on ebay ha. Sports games? Nothing beats NHL 94. TMNT in Time??? One of the best co-op games ever.

Super tough game when I was kid, still a challenge today.

Anyways, what are your favorite SNES games and how do you think the system stacks up to the rest?

I had one back in the day for about 6 months. Traded it to a kid in my school for a Sega Genesis. Best trade.

Keny Griffey Jr. Baseball was pretty good for SNES though.

Link to the Past, Mario World, Mario All Stars, Mario RPG, Final Fantasy 5, 6 DKC are all amazing franchises. Emulation is perfect too, and wii virtual console delivers in spades.

SEGA owns too, lets not forget.

Don't want to steal your SNES "Thunder". But I have to agree with @me_no_are_no_nice_guy. Genesis, was the far superior system. The game play was quicker and smoother. The Genesis only games were better than the SNES only games(with the obvious exception of DK Country, which rules), and the Genesis version of games for both systems (EA sports, MK, Street Fighter, etc.) were better.

I got sega genesis instead of the SNES growing up. I loved my genesis, but SNES was a superior system.

f*** yeah dude. I had Battletoads and Double Dragon too that shit kicked ass.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned Toe Jam and Earl yet? All you do is walk around and listen to funky music.
