Who art in rhombus,
W00kie be thy name.
These hippies come
With guitar and drum
On tour as it is in Gamehendge.
Give this day our daily toke
And forgive us our WSP stats
As we forgive spreadheads that come to our Phish shows.
And lead us not into the Biscuits
But deliver us from Umphrey's
Yesterday
Dinner with a friend and fellow Arbuckle Award winner tonight, then Igloofest with Magda Friday night. So thats not too shabby. The Superbowl party will pale in comparison to @Conphucius's, but we'll have all the key elements.
My gut is telling me its gonna be the Ravens.
I've gotten so much positivity from this community. I'm just giving back general happiness today.

Holy wind... felt like the big bad wolf was trying to blow me down. But luckily, I was safely in the arms of my favorite Boston-ite, @bostonron.
Im taking him to IKEA this evening. He is irrationally excited about his first time there... I promised him meatballs and lodenberry juice for dinner. Personally, I can't stand the place. For a person with OCD, its WAY too disorganized and confusing. Ahhhh, the sacrifices we make for our loved ones
Happy Friday Eve!!
@cupuscakus the wind was insanely blowy here last night. So much so that I couldn't sleep because I thought the windows in our bedroom were going to blow out.
Happy Thursday everyone!
start of the work week for me ::pukes::
got just about all my student loans paid off last night. God what a great feeling to be (virtually) debt free
GM.NWhere are you in MI? There are times when I really miss a good snowstorm, but only the snuggling inside and watching it part, not the actual going out in it part
Snowin' sideways in the mitten. Lake effect is no myth.
Good morning everyone! I'm not quite ready to get this day started but I sure am ready to get it over with. Does that make sense?

Ok, off to walk/run..The Great Went.
Also, I can't sign on earbud shocks. Ouch.
Glad you got a spot for the game @johnnyd.
My party is fun, but not conducive to watching the game. It's like Lord of the Flies- but with lots of food and beer and everybody gets along.
Anyone ever get an electric shock while wearing ear buds? I just got the craziest sensation... kinda like a shitty one... ouchThst shit happens to me when I take off my jacket or when I am folding laundry.
G' morning everybody. Not everyone gets along. There was that one Dolphins fan that was the only person rooting against the Giants
Glad you got a spot for the game @johnnyd.

heh, heh
We're hanging out with some friends for the Super Bowl. We're doing a big taco bar, and I think me and Joelle will also make some chicken wing dip.

Any light at the end of the tunnel, @johnnyd?
@cupuscakus - it is windy as hell here too. My whole building is creaking and moaning. It's actually pretty disconcerting (although not as bad as the earthquake a while back). Tonight, just drop little @bostonron at the Smaland playcenter and you can get done what you need to.
@ednaz - seems like the walking/running is coming along. When's your race?

Tentative plans to check out a friend's new place down in Rhode Island and listen to some records on Sunday. I should probably figure out when the Superbowl is happening and plan to travel during that.

I think I'm doing well. There are somethings I need to improve on, I think..breathing and keeping a consistent pace. I've been doing some reading/research. The weather been so nutty. One day I take in a deep breath of 20 degree air and the next day I'm sweating and breathing in 75 degree air. Today I'm likely to get blown around the streets of the neighborhood. Such a fun adventure.
Edit: @mfhgreyboy, @birmy, @y'all any source of training info you like?
Not particularly. I went couch> half marathon a few years back, and I contacted my old XC coach and he put a program together for me. I can try and dig it up if you want to see it. It's a combination distance/speed/pacing regiment that was essentially designed for an easy 8:30/mile pace.
There are so many internet "programs" it's tough to tell them apart. If you are avoiding drastic increases in speed/distance you're doing pretty good. Why don't you post what you've been doing (or the program you're following, if one) and I can comment from there. PM if you want.
I just went OFF on a coworker and it feel SO good. I did it thru email (since we work with children and a face to face interaction in front of them would have been bad) I ended the email with "Shame on You"Oh snap. What for?
Morning. Stayed up way too late last night. That's what happens when I start thinking about something interesting after 10 pm.I would definitely avoid traveling after. Lots of drunks on the roads that night. Be safe.

Yeeeahhhh, pure Michigan!
Man, I am beat and it's only 10:30. An incognito siesta might be needed today.
Usually, you should have about a 16 week program, but you're still young so you can squeeze in a 9 week program. Here is a 9 week program based on running slightly faster than a 1:52 for the half marathon at about 8:30 a mile. You can always back off to run 9 minutes a mile and adjust the following target times. It is a 5 day program but you can run easy on off days as well. I call it LIT, which stands for Long runs,Intervals and Tempo. For the long runs, you run for time rather than distance starting at 1 hour and then building to 2 hrs., Intervals will be on the track doing 800's (at 3:30 minutes with a 3;30 minute rest) , at times you can sub miles for 800's at 7 minute pace, Intervals are faster than goal pace because it establishes running economy. It makes your goal pace feel easier. Tempo's should be run at 20 seconds faster than marathon pace, which for you would be about 8:10 a mile. Your long runs should be about 30 seconds slower tham your goal pace, so you can run them at 9 minutes a mile. On your 2 easy days run 45 minutes to an hour.
Week
L (long run) INTERVAL TEMPO
1.1 hour 4x800 3 mile
2.1:10 5x800 4
3.1 :15 6x 800 5
4.1 :30 6 x800 6
5. 1:30 7x800 4
6. 1:40 7x800 7
7. 1:50 8 x800 8
8. 2 hours 8x800 6
9. 1 hour 4x800 3
10. race

Ahh, traverse city.We know what we're doing

It was not at all awesome @muggleballs... kept bouncing and was worried I'd end up like that guy with his phone melted to his hand and his eyeballs exploded...cept it would be buds melted in my ears...and exploded eyeballs.Be careful! Girl terr is coming!
Although maybe we could use you as some sort of Make A Wish scam to get backstage
No Mike, don't be alarmed. She sees and hears with her hands...that's totally normal, just sit right there
Yikes! It's so windy out today...Last night was garbage night..so there's garbage cans all over the place...I stopped putting out the garbage cans due to the fact that people loved to put their dog shit in my cans..so now it's just the garbage bags out at the curb...
Heading out to get the taxes done in a few..
::secretly funds girl terr::
See you on the flip side..
