I worked all night and have yet to go to bed. We did a shut down/change over last night at the building ive been working at in lower manhattan. We switched them back over to permanent power after they have been on generator power for the last 3 months or however long its been since hurricane sandy ripped through there. We took the entire building off the grid....which is why we had to work overnight....
so i sliced my finger open with my razor knife at around 3:30 am. not just a little cut...a terribly deep cut. i suppose thats what happens when u work after not having slept for nearly 24 hrs. you get tired...u get clumsy.
funny thing is that an hour before it happened, i was telling one of the guys that we had to be extra careful because of the fact that we were all exhausted. and i was careful....i just slipped. it happens.
anyway...my supervisor took me to the ER. I now have 6 stitches in my left middle finger. to say i was furious at the entire situation would be an understatement.
first time ive ever been stitched. it wasnt all that bad. the worst part was the cleaning out of the wound before the stitches. the doc poured iodine on there and it was the most painful thing that i have ever gone through in my life. i saw stars...i turned beet red, smoke was coming out of my ears and i nearly bit through my right index finger. my god...so much pain. then he numbed me up and did his work...
anyway...now im home and im still amped up on adrenaline. maybe ill cancel out last nights bad luck by winning a raffle today

@Slothberriesyeah, the cleaning of those wounds is the worst. i've had to stitch up ye 'ol finger too. it was only 3 stitches though.... not that rough.

@SlothberriesI too have done the iodine house of pain. As a child, I pretty well ripped my big toenail off playing outside. Mom got me in the bathroom, sat me on the toilet lid, and poured iodine over that open wound. I screamed. Most pain I've ever been in. I do, however, still have my toe. So, that's a plus for iodine~~

So i was really sick monday and tuesday. I have my dart league tuesday nite, i called in sick, my team captian sd he was sick and so was antother guy so we forfieted. But wedneday i was told the other team wanted to play. so no forfiet we have to play a make up game today at 2pm. the last thing i wanted was to be drunk by 5 on a satutday!

Busy morning. I had Dominic's parent/teacher conference. Went real well. His teacher told me she would give me a break on tuition if I would consider enrolling him in kindergarten there. She said he was a role model to the other students and a cornerstone to the class environment. I think I better head on over to the old Willow Spring Elementary and see if they will let me tour or observe a kindergarten class there.
I'm so proud of my son.
Came home and had a great workout and now I'm gonna do some chores and stuff. Makings of a great Saturday.
@women, I don't care where I sit. If I had to pick, I would choose a pavilion seat..but f***, I just want in. We'll get all these details worked out and I'm fine with multiple venues. I'll drive or fly, rail or seat, camp or hotel...whatevs y'all.
