missblue75 Jasmine rice is just a variety of nutty flavored rice, @birmy. Long grain white rice sometimes called thai fragrant rice. I like to make it with a touch of saffron for color...and I just like saffron.

EDIT: not planning on single for life, but single for now for sure. I need at least a year or two of getting to know me before I get to know anyone else...
There are always extenuating circumstances, but this is the plan.

@n00b100 I like that tradition. Gotta bet on the Super Bowl.
My play at the end of a season in the black is to stash half my winnings , then bet the rest- half on the favorite on the moneyline (if the line is 7 or less), half on the dog with the points.

I hope it works out for you just as planned. I have no luck in that regard so I just assume that is the case, on my own for 99% of my 36 years.

Jasmin rice sounds so good, did you say you add saffron to the Jasmin rice or to some other variety?

missblue75 @birmy, traditionally, one should use basmati rice for butter chicken, but I happen to have an assload of jasmine rice. It's my end-o-the-world stock up...that and lentils. (future "prepper" here)
But yes.. I just throw in a few hairs while steaming and it gives it an awesome golden yellow color with tiny pcs of bright red. I'll put it in any kind of rice just because I'm 90% about presentation. I feel that if I care enough about how it looks at the end, the beginning and middle will fall right into my plan of deliciousness and beauty.

Gonna try to attack this mound of clothes I have, get that somewhat cleaned up. Then maybe spin some vinyl and get into something in the basement. Either that or put some beach chairs out in the sun and have a beer.

I dont know, I think I may need to hit the store. I do have a small collection of tall boys right now though. A Stone Double Bastard, Stone Anniversary IPA, Two Stone Russian Imperial Stouts but I am aging them for a few more months, an Opa Opa Warthog A 10, a Back East Imperial Stout, a Long Trail Imperial Porter (but I fear it will suck because its older then I thought when I bought it) and one can of New England brewery Ghandi Bot.

The LTIPA is a great beer and the Double IPA is one of the best. Hmmm

I am even more psyched for any potential ridicule that will come from the pick I make. I think I've got my eye on one of the "least valuable" items on the board. I don't really have any interest in show posters for shows I wasnt at. And that leaves really very few shows on the board. One of which is widely considered the worst show ever. And there are two posters from that one available for the taking. And the one I like isnt even the one by the reknowned artist. So be it.

Their daughter is sick with whatever that horrible thing is that's going around. I was pretty bummed because apparently they have a cake that says "F@*% You" on it. Legend goes that when they first started dating they were at a Super Bowl party where the now husband got super drunk and asked the now wife to go get him a cake & she went to the bakery and had them write that on the cake and it became a yearly tradition

I was really looking forward to that F You cake

Missed this part when we started talking about beer. It only seems to be on my mind at certain times usually when I want to share an experience with someone. I have been single for years so its very normal for me and of course no children. The last relationship I had was the most I ever considered marriage and children but that went away quickly when I lost my job and had to take a 4 am shift which did nothing to help our relationship. Plus the ex of the ex never left her alone, guess who she married.

Where is my Imperial :)

Jimmymac03 @muggleballs tofu and other protein products like seitan (did I spell that right?) don't bring much to the table themselves and when can definitely be kind of gross. But when treated right and prepared with big flavors they can be really good. The tofu is just a vehicle for whatever flavors you want to introduce to it.

I am now dead set on trying to make Maple Habenero Buffalo Tofu. Or should I call it Maple Habenero Tofu Wings?

Jimmymac03 @Birmy work has always been an issue for me. Being in restaurants/bars I always worked at night. Made it very hard to date anyone with a normal schedual. Wound up dating a few coworkers. Obviously that didn't work out for me. My goal now is to take time and transition into a more normal lifestyle. In a few months I should be working 9-5 and I am really looking forward to it. I haven't had that lifestyle since high school.Excieted to be able to get out more and have a social life instead of being at work every night.

As for trying to date around here... slim pickings. Every one I have met so far that I might have been interested in is already in a relationship. The good ones go quick I guess.

I also think a lot of people jump from one to the next to avoid feeling rejected or lonely. Not my thing at all, actually I like to think I would not get "involved" with someone who hasn't been single for a good long time. I was asked to meet a girl who was described as gorgeous by my friends GF but then told me she just got out of a relationship and wanted to meet a nice guy. I have had a lot on the calender since this conversation.
