I work in a pharmacy, it's because of contamination. Even small remnants of the previous medication after could cause someone to react. Also, pharmacies label any and everything with a million different high visibility stickers to explain proper use. Too much fuss over a bottle. Pharmacies move very quickly, too. No one would wanna do that. We recycle, though. All of our office paperwork and most labels are recycled weekly. Our curbside will take #5 plastic RX bottles. Do you know if that is the normal bottle used?

1) oxy's come in boxes of 100 count blister packs (I work for an inpatient hospital pharm; all unit doses)
2)no pharm Dewey decimal system, lexicographical order
3)fentanyl patches seemingly have no defined order in the narc vault, but the 100mcg/hr patches are next to the Nubian on the top shelf of tower 4.
4)we have 4% coccaine soln. for optical procedures in 10 ml vials.
5)yes, these drugs are secured
Hope this was informative and fun!
