So I've had this thought bouncing around my brain since I first started listening to Phish. The lyrics to Run Like an Antelope,

"Set the gearshift for the high gear of your soul,
You've got to run like an Antelope, out of control!"

We all know them and they're simple enough.....or are they?

I always assumed that Trey is just saying "Hey antelopes can run like f***ing crazy, so you too should run like f***ing crazy".

But then I listened to it while I was high as f*** and I thought WAIT! Maybe Trey is not just saying run like an antelope because antelopes run like crazy, maybe it's even more.

Maybe he isn't just saying run like an antelope, but run like a crazy ass antelope. Run like an antelope that is itself out of control. Like an antelope who lost his shit. All the other antelopes are like "Holy ballsack watch out for that dude hes out of goddamn control!"

So that's basically what I think about when I hear those lyrics. What do you think .net?

It's like the old debate over the song California Girls and the lyric "I wish they call could be California girls"

Are they saying they wish all the other girls in the other states were as good as California girls?

Or are they saying they wish all the girls in the in the other parts of the country could come and live in California with them because native California girls are crap by comparison to the others ?
