The Mockingbird Foundation
The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Phish fans in 1996 to generate charitable proceeds from the Phish community.
And since we’re entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we’ve distributed over $1,000,000 to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
1. If you like Phish as more than just a party band (most of us, I assume) then this is mandatory viewing.
2. My absolute favorite parts were ones where I couldn’t understand what anyone was saying. It was the band members all talking over one another and laughing their asses off.
3. Trey saying 15 years was nothing and he could do this forever was a. awesome and b. in context not sad.
4. Really enjoyed learning about the family element. Was somewhat surprised to hear the younger daughter say all her friends till college were in “the scene.” Strange to imagine.
5. In the first couple minutes we learned that Greyhound Rising and Case of Ice and Snow were on the list for BD and WHAT THE f*** I HAVE BEEN WANTING THOSE!
6. I almost like Drift While You’re Sleeping now, but still don’t.
