The Mockingbird Foundation
The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Phish fans in 1996 to generate charitable proceeds from the Phish community.
And since we’re entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we’ve distributed over $1,000,000 to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
I think i actually learned a bit on how life evolves and what is good and bad in the eyes of the world.
we are a community, but some need to realize that we span about 40 years in age from the youngest members to the oldest members...and that is a lifetime...we can all learn from each other if we lighten up and talk instead for talk over, fight or call each other names.
I've noticed some people mention that they can't believe they have been attending shows with some of the "other people". At first i thought to myself, if they only knew the real diversity in a Phish show audience. Then it occurred to me, i too don't realize what makes up this community and how can i change to be more of a positive part of the group on here....
well, that's my Friday night, hope everyone has a great weekend...i'm off to hang out with my wife and enjoy a movie and then a good nights rest.
