And since we’re entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we’ve distributed over $1,000,000 to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
Such an important and complicated question. I can't pretend that I know the right answer, but I do know that many aren't aware of the risks they may encounter, which is the motivation for my original post.
I don't know how many shows you plan on attending, but you could consider self-testing with an immediate antigen test 3-5 days after your first show and perhaps daily thereafter (they run about $12/test) until 3 days after your last show if you feel strongly about being unmasked but want to minimize your risk of spreading. There is no perfect answer and, as you note, no way of attending a show without risk.
My profession is one of risk minimization, but not risk ablation. I just want us to be able to do this thing we love so much during a complicated time.
