The Mockingbird Foundation
The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Phish fans in 1996 to generate charitable proceeds from the Phish community.
And since we’re entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we’ve distributed over $1,000,000 to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
I can't tell you anything specific about the kid experience, but the last time I went mid-week late Summer was for Jam/Powdered night and the city was bustling but somewhat peaceful. Walked to the Nike store in times square after the show to get a pair of sneakers for my son (2 at the time, not invited). It was crazy, but more manageable than a weekend or during holiday run. So for a lot of reasons you've chosen the best dates for a legendary show and great time.
I disagree with the people saying to avoid TS - the kids need to experience that so they can see it once. Let the kids see the lunch and dinner receipts too so they know what they owe you later, and take them to wall street to explain compound interest.
I'll be there on 8/1, if I have any good tips after checking out the setup I'll report back. Have fun!
