The Mockingbird Foundation
The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Phish fans in 1996 to generate charitable proceeds from the Phish community.
And since we’re entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we’ve distributed over $1,000,000 to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
The first few weeks are very difficult, your lady will need time and help with lots of things she normally wouldn't like getting in/out of the tub, etc. She will also need you to do everything you may not normally do - cook, clean, laundry, everything else in the house inside and out, etc. You will also be getting NO sleep, and have to deal with that, which is much harder than you think. I have gone through this with my two boys and the first few weeks/months were much more difficult than I ever expected.
Even if your wife agreed to go, it would be hell to pack up all your stuff and go to a cabin. Your wife would hate it, you'd feel guity leaving them while on "vacation" to see shows 4-5 hours each day, etc. You would also be tired, unhappy and not able to enjoy the shows. Plus, you'll never hear the end of it from your wife/family.
As I said, this one is easy. You're about to change your life and the world, the last thing you need is to screw things up. Something amazing is about to happen to you, now man up and do it right!
