The Mockingbird Foundation
The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Phish fans in 1996 to generate charitable proceeds from the Phish community.
And since we’re entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we’ve distributed over $1,000,000 to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
That part of the jam where they 'teased' going into a certain spaciness, but decided against fully doing it. To somebody who doesn't really know Phish, that was probably just a mess up. We eventually learn little things that they do musically to communicate ideas with one another, but even in knowing that we are still blown away with what they come up with.
Also I have this idea of organic/synthetic sounds. They accomplish different things and the band knows how to control it. They probably don't think of it that way though.
I actually think every reason I love Phish might not make sense to other people.
That's why I love them. It's all in my head and I love every second of it.
