I once had an affair with the Pumpkins...late '91 to about '95. Pumpkins, for a long time, held the "Band I've Seen the Most" title with six shows...for me, six shows is a lot considering I try to see just about everyone coming to the Louisville, Indianapolis, Cincinnati area...back then, I was a "band whore" and saw anyone I could...so no touring or getting "married" to a band. I guess you can say I married late in life...to Phish...but I have a wife and kids now so no touring for me...go when I can, but that's another topic.

Anyhow, the affair was a good one, but Billy lost me somewhere around Adore and the relationship never got any better. The band fighting/breaking up didn't help either. Corgan's solo try lost me for good...Zwan was between "Blah" and "Ok" and even the attempt at reuniting the band didn't ignite any sort of old flame.

I thought the Pumpkins really lost an opportunity to put their name next to some of the greats. Lord only knows where they would've ended up without the heroin, Corgan's ego, the scrapping, etc. As a fan, one eventually gets sick of the drama and moves on.
