The Mockingbird Foundation
The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Phish fans in 1996 to generate charitable proceeds from the Phish community.
And since we’re entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we’ve distributed over $1,000,000 to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
MPP2 > Randalls3 > Mann2, but all three were very different.
Randalls3 was very exploratory and jammy.
Mann2 was an utter rage fest/ throwdown/ dance party.
MPP2 was all-encompassing everything I look for at a Phish show. The first set, in my opinion, was the best single set (first, second, or third) of music I could ever hope for: open with a Fee, The Curtain With (not as much of a bust-out, but about as beautiful as it gets), funktastic dance party material in one of the most high energy 46 Days I've yet to witness/Sand/555, got ol' fashioned Bluegrass in My Sweet One, Saw It Again bustout, then not only a FIRST SET Fuego but you close the set with a Fuego > YEM??? All I could say to my neighbors in the pit was "where do we even go from here"? ...Apparently we make some points with that segue-fest, a jammed out NICU, and close the night with 15 minutes of silliness- off the cuff Jennifer Dances mocking and the band's conga line around the stage to Page's I Been Around. Oh wait, then for an encore we get the first Boogie On of the tour??? We're not quite at 72 hours yet, but that was show #97 for me... I don't want to come out with THAT superlative just yet, but I think you know what's coming...
