The Mockingbird Foundation
The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Phish fans in 1996 to generate charitable proceeds from the Phish community.
And since we’re entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we’ve distributed over $1,000,000 to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
I love the song. I believe it took 136 takes or something similar for Phish to record it on Joy. It is very challenging to play and 2009 and 2010 Phish weren't up for the challenge (just relearning the old stuff was hard enough).
I'm just disappointed MGMT slammed the song so hard. They gave it a couple of more chances, but most likely those comments made them feel too self conscious to get into the flow.
First you said trey gave "zero f***s" and now it's "jet fuel for his ego" LOL. Trey saw the comments and it obviously bothered him.
He still did the orchestra versions so obviously he loves the music. I really hope he adds it to the TAB repertoire since that band is on a more solid foundation than Phish. Its a.shame what's happened to it.
