The Mockingbird Foundation
The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Phish fans in 1996 to generate charitable proceeds from the Phish community.
And since we’re entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we’ve distributed over $1,000,000 to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
The front of board tapers are sometimes just as big a problem as any drunken asshole pushing in a show time... they wait until the set starts, then raise up an array of 14 mics to 8' high, blocking the view of anyone behind them. The tapers should go behind the soundboard, or if they must be FOB, keep mics at 6' or less. Gary had to tell these beefy f***ers in Alabama to get the array out of his sightline!
I love and respect the taping art and those who pursue it, but not when it impacts the live experience for other patrons. Just rude.
