The Mockingbird Foundation
The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Phish fans in 1996 to generate charitable proceeds from the Phish community.
And since we’re entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we’ve distributed over $1,000,000 to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
That makes two votes for Slip Stitch and Pass... on the list it goes!
I have the MPP SBD you refer to. My mind was completely blown watching that stream. So much fun. I've yet to re-listen, but yeah. Killer show.
My wife had a good time at the Atlanta show, I'd say. She has some built-up positive sentiment towards the band from being a fan of Analyze Phish herself (partly due to being very fond of Harris's other work... his passing was very sad for us), but I don't think she enjoys the jams very much. She'd probably be happy to go to another show. Ultimately, I don't think she really likes or dislikes the band, but—like so many Phish fans in similar situations (as evidenced by Analyze Phish)—I'm compelled to convince her (though I know enough not to annoy her about it... I'm mostly just surprised that their friendly demeanor doesn't completely bring her on-board).
I think she thinks my enthusiasm is a bit weird, but she didn't seem unhappy when I spent most of last weekend streaming Phish.
I'm debating how much of Magnaball to stream this weekend out of consideration for her, because she doesn't really like to sit and watch the shows online (which I understand... it's kind of a peculiar way to spend time) and we're both pretty busy for a lot of the week... so I don't want to burn all of our potential free time together on something only I enjoy.
