It's not hyperbole to offer an opinion. I will listen to Dicks3 a lot more than Magnaball. Set II's got flow like a mofo (moflow?? lol) and the impromptu Set III encore with the most cherished of all Phish rarities. Landlady? Birdwatcher? Harpua? N02? f***ing Keyboard Kavalry?!! What else do you want?

A 17 minute Caspian (which really is a > back into Tweezer, shouldn't be labelled Caspian at all) does not top last night.

Three setters nowadays do not tend to be the best shows like they once did. The band is too willing to waste time when they have it. See; Miami 12/31 Set I and latter part of III, Magna 8/22 Set I and latter part of Set III, and most of the NYE Set III's of 3.0. The third set used to top the second set at these events. They don't really do that anymore.

I am not counting the Drive-In as part of the 8/22 show, because it's a separate thing, in the same way the Tower Jam is not part of the IT shows proper. It's not Set 4. And Magnaballaz, please be honest and admit the day set on 8/22 is not great.

Setlists matter. Magna has sweet jams and the MAGNAGIN but this is a superior overall show to anything else this tour. Phish made it that way by choosing to drop the songs they did, and playing with the energy they did. That DwD is 99-style Treyshred. Excellent. I wish they'd played Carini like THAT at Alpine instead of stupid Waves ripchord (why Trey).

I told everyone prior to Magnaball, expect at least one night at Dicks to top everything. Not surprised, but bummed I couldn't make it. Still no Dicks for me ever, and it seems like they do something like this every time. But this is the one I will listen to the most of any Dick's show. The best Dick's show they have played IMO, the spelling tricks don't do it for me, shows like last night do.

Sorry East Coasters are mad and jealous. You put a f***ing banner in the sky for harpua, and they still did it at Dicks not Magna.

Even written as Tweezer -> Caspian -> Tweezer, Magna's second set tops last nights second set by a bajillion kilograms of type two. DWD -> Carini was nice but thats all the type two all night. I'd even take the Magna 46 days over that sequence, but comparing anything they did last night to Tweezerpants is absurb

Also, if the Tower Jam isn't part of the IT festival proper what is it part of? I'm gonna have to relist it in my iTunes library "2003/08/16, Phish, Not the IT festival proper, Limestone, ME"
