We saw the film More by Barbet Schroeder and didn't really like it. But I've found that I don't really like French new wave cinema. This soundtrack album has lots of gems on it.
Pink Floyd also did another soundtrack album for a Schroeder film called La Vallee. But the album was called Obscured By Clouds, which many Floyd fans will know. That album was a big transition point for Pink Floyd (basically from the early Gilmore years, after Barrett had left) and you can hear hints of Dark Side of the Moon on it, which was their next album release. After that they had a much more composition based arrangement. The live shows had a lot less jamming and became increasingly extraordinary visual album experiences. One of the first was the Eclipse tour which was the original working title for DSOTM. Till finally they said f*** it and did the Wall tour, which is similar to a rock opera. Not a bad trade off really considering what icons of rock and roll those later Floyd albums have become. More is a great early one
