The Mockingbird Foundation
The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Phish fans in 1996 to generate charitable proceeds from the Phish community.
And since we’re entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we’ve distributed over $1,000,000 to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
I went ahead and set-up a public Skedaddle route for each night. Between my friends and the folks coming with @emac33 we had enough riders for the route to “go live”, so now we have seats left over for anyone who would like to join!
Where:
Bus leaves from Moreau Lake State Park, drives to SPAC, and returns to Moreau each night after the show. Judging from what I've heard the bus won't be allowed past the parking lot right after the first gate, so the pick-up/drop-off spot will likely be at the entrance.
From Skedaddle's website: "We’ll keep all riders updated with any changes, and send everyone finalized details 24 hours prior to the departure of your route along with your bus driver’s contact information in case you have any last minute questions"
When:
July 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
Bus leaves Moreau for SPAC each day at 4:45 PM
Bus leaves SPAC to return to Moreau each night at 12:30 AM
From Skedaddle's website: "The bus can’t wait longer than the standard 10 minute boarding time. For a stress-free travel experience, we suggest that you arrive at the pick-up location 20 minutes before the scheduled departure time!"
Cost:
Right now there are 44 seats at $36.66 per person, all inclusive (no fees for parking, gas, or gratuity, although my friends and I will likely throw the driver a tip and would definitely encourage others to do so as well!) Cards are charged 48 hours prior to the route.
If we run out of seats and there are enough people still interested we could start an additional bus - you need at least 10 people for a route to go live.
How:
From Skedaddle's website: "48 hours prior to the departure time you will receive an email that serves as your receipt and your pass when you board the bus. If you have our mobile app, you’ll receive a notification letting you know when you can check in. You’ll be able to access your pass within the app as well!
We love the Earth! No need to print your pass. Just show the route leader or bus driver your email or your mobile pass if you’re using the Skedaddle app!"
