Unfortunately I think you are right. The people in charge have already made the decision that 100K dead, 250K or even a million dead is the price of doing business. Numbers are still going up yet America is opening now? At this point I think the discussions and debates are silly. The decision to sacrifice 100's of thousands of lives has been made. The WI Supreme Court may very well force the state to reopen. One the SC judges here said that forcing businesses to close even during a pandemic is illegal and is tyranny. Public health is not a legal reason to force legal business to close. We have such a problem with "for the public good" here in the US it's embarrassing.

It's essentially what Chris Christie said yesterday:

"Of course, everybody wants to save every life they can -- but the question is, towards what end, ultimately?" Christie said in an interview with CNN's Dana Bash for The Daily DC Podcast. "Are there ways that we can... thread the middle here to allow that there are going to be deaths, and there are going to be deaths no matter what?”

I'm not a fan of his, but at least he said it. Continuing to say that we're beyond the worst could prove to make the numbers even higher than if they just admitted the plan is herd immunity at this point.
