part of me wants this to happen because he was incredible at spurs. best player i've seen wear the shirt. but part of me doesn't want this to happen because i only want to remember him as being incredible and he's 7 years older, chronically injured, and has admitted he doesn't really care about the sport (which is fine, but when things get tough, will he just shrug it off and collect his paycheck?)

If it is indeed a loan then it's fairly low risk from the club's POV. I think some reasonable expectations need to be made that he's not the bale we had 7 years ago. I think that a large part of his motivation loss has been because his experience in Madrid has been so negative despite a few high highs- him and Zidane clearly never gelled, he was always going to be second to ronaldo, the fans in madrid are pretty rough, etc. I think Bale has a real incentive to make an impact at spurs this year. It also puts some pressure on Lucas, Bergwijn, and Son to perform, Could be a true "lebron back to cleveland" moment for his legacy.

Also I selfishly want to buy a bale kit so this would be naturally helpful
