The Mockingbird Foundation
The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Phish fans in 1996 to generate charitable proceeds from the Phish community.
And since we’re entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we’ve distributed over $1,000,000 to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.

I was going to say this. Having the three women up there singing is more of a risk (especially given how they sing) than having the three horns. ."
I think the real "risk" is that we could get a brass section in these final shows.
Brass sections suck.
Or... blow.
"
It hurts my heart to think of all the good music you are missing out on due to brassphobia.
Imagine thinking Tower Of Power, P Funk and James Brown suck."
I listen to all of those... but yeah... brass sections are not my favorite and I really don't like it when they are filling space that Trey could be occupying.
Try to listen to Sinatra.
I mean... I realize that's a big band, but after a few songs I can't take it anymore.
We went to the UW Band's Christmas Concert a couple of years ago and it was great for about 15 minutes and then I'm like make it stop.
Yes... marching band.
It's not the number of instruments.
It's the brashness of the instruments and lack of subtlety when multiple horns are braying at once.
Jazz is fine. Went thru my Jazzbo phase like most of us do.
Single horns are fine.
Brass section?
Let's just say I'd be fine if we go 2 more shows without one and then he can go back to TAB."
That's a pretty reasonable response.
I have no love for Sinatra, but I love Duke Ellington and Count Basie and a lot of big band music.
Hell, some of my favorite music in the world is New Orleans brass band music, and that is nothing BUT brass section. We are not destined to agree on this subject, but I appreciate the friendly response."
Let alone all of the more modern groups with horns.
Lettuce
Turkuaz
Snarky Puppy
The Motet
Galactic
The New Mastersounds
