Can you drive, leave your campsite, and then drive the car back? Also, where is the best place to camp, general camping?

Yes that's what I did every day. I left my camp set up and drove my car to the river. Unless you have the sweetest camping setup ever this is the best thing to do. It's way better than sitting in the heat all day long. I've only ever camped in general camping but I would assume gold camping and anywhere closer to the venue would be better. You get what you pay for. If you're in general camping you're walking like a mile to get to the venue. I didn't mind, but some might.
