The Mockingbird Foundation
The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Phish fans in 1996 to generate charitable proceeds from the Phish community.
And since we’re entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we’ve distributed over $1,000,000 to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
On harvest day pluck off all fan leaves, leave sugar leaves. I thoroughly inspect to make sure theres no mold or any pathogens before bringing it into my drying room. Drying room is my spare bedroom with black out shades and a single a/c unit set to 60, and a dehumidifier constantly running at 60%, this allows for a slow, even dry through the entire branch. And keep the lights off unless your in the room. At day 14 i snap test branches to ensure they are properly dried. Everything then gets bucked off into a plastic container with a lid. Trim what you can for the time being, and if you need to finish the next day or even days later its still slowly drying in the plastic bin and will hold until you can get to it(trim jail is some shit). Once trimmed i cure in glass mason jars, and burp them once a day for 30 plus minutes depending on bud size. Continue burping for 2 weeks and then into a cure period for 6-8 weeks. CURING AND DRYING IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE PROCESS, you can grow fire and then kiss it goodbye if you don't follow the proper steps, know your temps and humidity at all times( get a hygrometer). Here to help if anyone has questions. Smoke em if you got em!
