The Mockingbird Foundation
The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Phish fans in 1996 to generate charitable proceeds from the Phish community.
And since we’re entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we’ve distributed over $1,000,000 to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
I’m not suggesting the lights aren’t good or haven’t gotten better. I’m more or less making a statement on the status of light design in general in the jam world. I was just suggesting that if Goose wants to kick it up a notch they could really try and go for some super innovative unique new light design. Idk how realistic this is because it really come down to the tech available BUT I think my sentiment rings true. Not to bring this back to a Phish comparison but what they did with moving lights back in the 90s was a huge reason for their success. It’s my hope that SOME band will find a way to successfully break away from the fairly standard light setup that every jam band has takin up. If Goose could pull it off then that would be super cool
