The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Phish fans in 1996 to generate charitable proceeds from the Phish community.
And since we’re entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we’ve distributed over $1,000,000 to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
Yeah, I have noticed that too. Not a big deal, doesn't detract from the show for me, but seems like Fish is really experimenting (sometimes struggling for a bit in the process) with the knowledge that trying new things live will sometimes result in having to work through it and figure it out, but I think that is what they do. I am/was a drummer and so I am pretty hyper-focused on Fish throughout a show. I'm trying to remember/find the song from last night where Fish was hitting the snare or a high tom or something on what seemed like the last 32nd note of the measure and do it consistently; I might find it, but I was zeroed in on him for those several measures as he was trying to make it work one bar after another and Trey and Mike trying to give him the chance to work it out. He eventually got it...so difficult, what he was doing. Then again, maybe they all were perfectly in sync the entire time and I was the one searching for the rhythm. Considering my chops aren't even in the same galaxy as Fishman's, that is not beyond the realm of possibility.
