And since we’re entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we’ve distributed over $1,000,000 to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
You're right about Haymaker and the Mustangs (Sally & Harry), and @mk546194 is right about Rudy's (excellent and legendary spot!).
General rule of thumb: the further your walk from MSG, the greater your reward in terms of a good vibe and more affordable drinks. Otherwise, it depends on the scene you want. If you want more phans, stay closer to MSG, because most of the "crew" there for the show will be at run of the mill, touristy places like Triple Crown, Molly Wee, Blarney Stone, and Stout
Beer Authority on 42nd & 8th has an excellent beer selection, usually some kind of Phish scene, and plenty of room
Billymark's West on 9th Ave is about as divey as you can get in Manhattan. Not sure if Phans have found this spot yet.
Trailer Park Lounge on 23rd Street has great vibes
District Tap House on 38th is solid
Holland Bar on 39th & 9th is also quite humble and good
Don't forget to save $17 for a Sierra Nevada Foam in a souvenir cup!
