And since we’re entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we’ve distributed over $1,000,000 to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
Totally agree with this. The show grapples with the theme of gentrification, name drops Sweetgreen to complain half a dozen times, then complains that this is happening in... River North?! For context, that's like complaining that the Upper East Side of Manhattan is getting hit with a wave of gentrification that's displacing locals. That ship sailed long before the time period that this show is supposed to take place in. It was such an odd choice.
Interestingly, they said that even if they didn't set the show in Chicago, they still would have used the multiple Wilco songs that they did as soundtrack, just because they like Wilco and the way they fit the scenes perfectly. And holy smokes does the Spiders jam they put under episode 7 add so much to the tension of the episode. It absolutely rips, and is my favorite episode of TV I've seen in three plus years.
Any nitpicking aside, this is easily my choice for the best show I've seen this year.
