As someone who frequently slights More, I was blown away by that version. Great playing from Trey
Was literally saying in the lot that afternoon, "they better not play More tonight." I'm damn glad they did.
I don't think the N4 show is near as bad as everyone is saying. Throw any poorly-played bustout song in that setlist and it's a 3.75-4 on .Net's horribly-skewed rating system. I had a great time, particularly during that 2001. The Everything's Right jam was excellent as well
Looking back at the show on paper with song lengths, it does look a bit rushed. But I did not get any serious rushed vibes during the show for whatever reason, other than maybe that Hood - like you said. I think they could have extended the encore with another fatty, but in the moment I loved how they bookended with Tweeprize Thursday-Sunday
Thursday had some great moments, other than that horrendous ripchord of Mercury during what was shaping up to be an amazing jam segment. Trey should be criminally-charged for that one. Ruby Waves after was solid at least. I think the highlight of that show would be the Light for me. Packed a punch
Friday's Wolfman's opener went places fast. That Stash was so patient right outta the composed section, same with the Scents & SS - loved both of those. Unpopular opinion would be that I'd take that NMINML over the Sand, but what I will say is CK5's lights during that Sand were the craziest, most impressive chit I've ever seen. I also appreciated that Melt big time. Got musically-dissonant without being TOO dissonant to the point where avant-garde doesn't even accurately describe it. Helluva way to end a show.
I took N3 off, so I can't really speak to that show, but it seems most folks picked 2 or 3 for their fav
N4 was a rollercoaster. Sitting in line for 3 hours (whilst the band also waited an extra hour and change to start) made for a weird night. I honestly think I like last year's 1-Setter better, but I still enjoyed N4. I will re-listen to that Everything's Right frequently.
All-in-all, a solid run that doesn't deserve to have a viral thread on .Net touting it as the worst ever. Other than the rain delay, we had such an easy time at the venue the entire weekend. Drove right into and right outta Lot G seamlessly every night. I got no complaints. Dix Rules
