It's a fair retort so I'll address it. When people say Law & Order what they typically are talking about is violent crime and the perception of unruliness in the streets or that historically safe public spaces are no longer so. What they usually don't mean is things playing out within the system - e.g. court cases moving, albeit slowly, to judicial resolution. Law & Order is about the perception of safety.

Unfortunately it looks like none of the cases against Trump except the hush money one will be fully adjudicated before November 5th, and in polls it's guilty verdicts on the three other cases that are most determinative w/r/t to changing prospective voters opinions.

If these Gaza protests continue and we get another summer of 2020 with "fiery but mostly peaceful protests" and Biden is unwilling to go hard on quashing them or they are a huge detraction to the convention, he will look weak, and the actual undecideds may be open to switching their vote to Trump the strongman who has no qualms about squashing them with an overwhelming use of force.

That's the argument. Do you disagree with or dispute that? Or just not like the fact that it may be true?

Either way I worry a ton about civil unrest *regardless* of the election outcome, but especially if Trump loses (to be clear, I am not for him winning, I am still undecided). But his insane right flank are heavily armed (as we saw also in 2020, Charlottesvile 2017 etc) and actually believe him when he says an election was stolen.
