@jdkrug - dig Willi. Tempted to road trip to Johnny & Brenda's in Philly to catch him tonight but I believe I'm stuck in the event horizon of domestic life. Nice to look out from the black hole though and see things happening in the world.

Morning routine at casa de Optimo can be a grind for yours truly. Cranking out 4x bespoke breakfast orders for the dependents while grappling with an ornery 3 year old and trying to get everyone dressed appropriately and transported safely and on time to where they need to be is hectic. Occasional pop-tart / bowl of cereal helps lighten the load, but usually we are cranking out breakfast meats, scrambled eggs or omelets, over-easy eggs with avocado toast, etc. I usually try to unload dishwasher or help with laundry logistics as well as these appliances invariably work the overnight shift 7-nights a week. By the time I get to work, I'm exhausted...

But now that the weather is getting warmer and the woods are greening up, I'm making an effort to sit on my screened in porch with my coffee for at least a few minutes every morning. Today's 3-minute break was sublime with the gently falling rain and a symphony of bird calls. Soaking up nature and thinking of you....this screened in porch is the coolest part of the new house by far, but there's a relatively small window of ideal weather in which we get to really use and enjoy it.
