The Mockingbird Foundation
The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Phish fans in 1996 to generate charitable proceeds from the Phish community.
And since we’re entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we’ve distributed over $1,000,000 to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.

Best Second Set Ever?
This a top-3 all time show, at least the second set—some argue it is the single best set of music the band ever played.
The Mind Left is my all time favorite. On the heels of a rippin Playin->freak the F out, deep, spooky, face melting jam, it rises like the sun after a frosty night—pardon the cliche but that is exactly how it sounds. The rest of the set is comprised of all-time-best live versions. The Morning Dew encore bookends a crisp, focused, charging, psychedelic, improvised, jazz-driven three-night run.
Whether you lover her or hate her, this late fall ‘73 tour is sans Donna, who is home heavily preggers. The fact that this (late fall ‘73) is arguably the best tour in the band’s history, without Donna, is … interesting. But it is very neat to hear nothing but Jerry’s voice in songs that are usually accompanied by Donna.
Being such a ridiculous show, it was a Latvala favorite and became Dick’s Picks Vol. 14, along with 11-30. So the full show is only available as an aud copy. BUT the good old Charlie Miller released the second set’s SBD!! A link to that second set sbd is first, followed by the full aud version—which i post mainly for the accompanied Latvala home notes—made in 1976, ‘80, ‘81 and ‘83.
To those who may not know, Latvala’s absolute favorite activity was waking up at his home in Hawaii, brewing coffee, smoking a joint of homegrown Hawaiian and turning on a Grateful Dead show, which he made notes of. This was often followed by afternoon and evening acid sessions with friends, which were centered around listening to the Dead on various sbd reels shipped to Latvala from the mainland by various sources. Shitty life i tell ya.
